(Leaves Paris approx. 7.30 pm and arrives Rome approx. 9.30
am next morning). The first photo shows a sample couchette,
showing two seats facing each other under normal configuration.
The two seats fold down into a lower bunk, and the upper bunk
folds down from above. The ladder is stored off to the
side. Couchettes are compartments of open bunks of 4(for domestic routes
in France) and 6 berths. These berths can be booked individually
(e.g.: 2 berths out of 6) or all together for groups (all
6). Compartments are not gender specific so if you are not
booking all the berths in a compartment, you may be sharing
with someone of the opposite sex. Each berth has a pillow,
sheet and blanket. Washbasins are not available in the compartments.
Fares for couchettes require a first or second class ticket
or pass and the couchette supplement. Some couchettes may
vary by train. |
