Salzburg

Salzburg sits on the border between Austria and Germany and is the capital city of the province which bears its name. Mozart

The youngest child and only surviving son of Leopold Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus was born in Salzburg in 1756. He showed early precocity both as a keyboard-player and violinist, and started composing and performing for European royalty at the age of five. The Mozart family lived on the third floor of the "Hagenauer House" at Getreidegasse 9 for twenty-six years, from 1747 to 1773.
