This trip is a true treasure trove!

Your Treasures of Scotland itinerary has been carefully designed and features fantastic experiences:

Scotland can certainly brag about an abundance of treasures. Your journey is packed with outdoor activities, spectacular wildlife, multi-layered history, unique cuisine, and fascinating filming locations – Braveheart, James Bond, Harry Potter or Outlander – to name a few. We will attempt to get a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster, a creature in Scottish folklore said to inhabit the famous lake in the Scottish Highlands and taste some of the country’s legendary malts.

Culture & Heritage:

Scotland’s culture can be traced back almost a thousand years and it’s just as alive today as it has ever been. From the ancient clans of the 12th century, each generation has added their own cultural thumbprint, creating a unique and vibrant country. The kilt is the traditional Highland dress, dating back to the 16th century. Think ancient and mysterious standing stones, fine castles and lavish stately homes, striking architecture, and abandoned fortresses. Hear of fierce battles, and how bloody uprisings were. Learn about new discoveries and world-changing inventions that were made.

Culinary:

Scottish cuisine draws on the natural bounty of its coastal waters, moors and stony peaks, producing dishes as memorable as they are flavorful. The national dish is haggis, traditionally made from a boiled mix of chopped sheep’s offal, oatmeal, herbs, and seasoning. It is served with creamy mashed turnips and potatoes. Enjoy a variety of delicious pies and shortbread, yummy soups and stews, as well as incredible smoked fish. Discover the Scotch National Drink: Whisky. Skilled distillers combine the pure water from crystal-clear streams with golden barley from the fields and transform them into a precious spirit, which is then poured into oak casks and tucked away to mature.
.

Educational:

Learn about the turbulent and bloody history of this country during our walk of Edinburgh guided by a local historian. Traveling through the Highlands, we encounter places that have been used as the perfect location for films of all genres. Some of these are filled with historical inaccuracies and we will be on a quest to find the truth. For instance, the film Braveheart is about William Wallace. One would assume that Wallace was known as ‘Braveheart’ but the real Braveheart was King Robert the Bruce. Stay tuned for more facts..
.

Landscapes & Wildlife:

On our journey it becomes evident why Scotland has been used as the backdrop for so many movies. From towering mountains to glittering lochs, dense woodlands and golden beaches, Scotland’s epic landscapes and natural scenery really will take your breath away. Look out for Highland cows or encounter the graceful soaring white-tailed sea eagle, see playful dolphins or seals and puffins.
.

Leisure:

Take leisure time for a digital detox. Disconnect from the bustle of everyday life, recharge your batteries outdoors in nature and set aside your phones for some quality relaxation time. Take a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train aka Hogwarts Express while in Ft. William or climb famous Nevis Mountain. Stroll along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh or explore at Stirling Castle.
.

Outdoor & Adventure:

Adventure is around every corner on this journey of Scotland. Explore the Scottish Highlands, take a boat ride on Loch Ness and head out across Culloden moor in search of your Clan’s marker. Dip your feet into the magical Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye on our optional excursion or add additional adventure on a rafting, gorge walking or kayaking excursion.
