24 Hours in London

24 Hours in London

In this blog, we are going over 24 hours to spend in London.

Are you planning on spending just 24 hours in London? Sure, it is not a lot of time, but you will be able to see plenty of London’s main highlights even in such a short span of time. In this blog, we are doing this to help plan the perfect day to spend in London. We’ll break down a few of our favorite sights in London to help you make the most out of your day there. Read on to learn more!

The Tower of London

For all you history fans out there, then you will love the Tower of London. This place was home to plenty of scheming, plotting, death, and betrayals throughout the years and was home to queens, princes, and archbishops. You can expect to spend around least two hours here, exploring every corner of the tower, from the execution block to the crown jewel itself. While you are at the Tower of London, you can take the chance to pop across to the Thames on Tower Bridge, which is the most famous of London’s bridges.

South Bank and London Eye

Once you have crossed over the Tower Bridge, you will find yourself right on the South Bank, cunningly named since it is on the south bank of the river Thames. As you’re walking west along this lovely bit of pedestrianized river, you will also pass sights like the HMS Belfast and London City Hall. You will also be walking past the recreation of Shakespeare’s famous Glove Theatre, the Shard, and the Millennium Bridge, which leads right to St. Paul’s Cathedral and the famous Tate Modern Art Gallery. Once you have passed these attractions and perhaps grabbed some food at Borough Market by the London Bridge, you will find yourself coming around the corner, with the House of Parliament right in your view with the infamous London Eye Ferris wheel. This area has many attractions you can visit, all close to each other, so we recommend checking it out.

Buckingham Palace

Home to the former Queen of England, Buckingham Palace is another icon of London that you should try to see if you’ve got time in your 24 hours in London. Here you can look through the railings to watch the changing of the guards and wonder as to how the other half live and wave at the windows on the off-chance somebody waves back. During the summer, you can actually go inside the palace to see it better, making it an attractive destination for the next few months.
