Discover the Gardens of London

Discover the Gardens of London when traveling on your next college trip

Discover the gardens of London, such as the elegant and history-rich green space at Hampton Court Palace.

London is home to Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, and Buckingham Palace, but did you know that 40% of the city consists of green space? In fact, there are over 35,000 acres of Royal Parks, wildlife conservations, lavender fields, and gardens throughout the Big Smoke! Exploring the green spaces of London is a relaxing way to escape the frenzy of the city. Grab some friends and go enjoy the elegant gardens of London!

Chelsea Physic Garden

The Chelsea Physic Garden was established three centuries ago by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London! It is now considered the oldest botanical garden in the city, and the second oldest in the UK. Visitors can peruse 5,000 different medicinal, herbal, and edible plants from Late March to early November. Experience a fascinating range of tours, workshops, activities, and more at the Chelsea Physic Garden!

The Gardens at Hampton Court Palace

The Gardens at Hampton Court Palace were once the exclusive playground of kings and queens. Now, they’re visited by thousands of people every year! Spend the entire day exploring the Great Fountain Garden, the Privy Garden, the Pond Gardens, and more! Experience the magic at the annual Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival in July 2020!

Queen Mary’s Gardens

Queen Mary’s Gardens were created in tribute to the wife of King George V and opened to the public in the 1930s. The historic garden has the most extensive collection of roses in London, boasting over 12,000 roses of 400 different varieties. Kick back on one of the benches, snap a selfie, and stop to smell the roses.

Hampstead Pergola & Hill Gardens

Walking through the Hampstead Pergola and Gardens is like stepping foot inside of an eerie fairytale. Considered one of London’s hidden treasures, the pergola is overgrown with vines and vibrant flowers. Lord Leverhulme created the gardens in 1904, in hopes to enjoy the summer air and host many extravagant parties. To truly experience the unique charms of Hampstead Pergola, visit the ground on an overcast day.
