Hermosa Beach
Playa Hermosa, located at the entrance of the Papagayo Gulf is one of the best surfing beaches of Costa Rica. You’ll also find gentle waves, great for swimming and snorkeling.

National Parks
Dive deeper into nature with a tour of Costa Rica’s many national parks. Two close-by favorites are Palo Verde National Park and Santa Rosa National Park. Wander in awe through lush jungles as you’re greeted by friendly monkeys and exotic birds sing overhead.

Playa Ocotal’s pristine waters are usually fairly calm, so the wildlife here gets to live a fairly peaceful existence. Because of this, Playa Ocotal has the ideal atmosphere for snorkeling.

La Fortuna

El Sato (River Jump Rope)
El Salto is a popular local swimming spot right outside of town. This swimming hole on the Fortuna River has a rope swing and a small waterfall. And best of all, it’s free! El Salto is about 2 miles from the church in the center of town. You can walk, take a short taxi ride, or park your car right before the bridge and walk a few minutes down to the river.
