Are you ready for an adventure?

Located on the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina, lies one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia. Plitvice Lakes National Park extends over 73,350 acres and attracts more than one million visitors each year! With deep blue lakes, lush forestry, and cascading waterfalls it’s easy to see why so many adventurers make the trip. What are you waiting for? Explore Croatia and Plitvice Lakes National Park with AESU!

Stunning Views

Plitvice Lakes features a walkway system that leads hikers safely through the most beautiful parts of the park. There are two access points where visitors can enter from, each offering a view more stunning than the next. The first entrance opens up to a spectacular vantage point that overlooks the lakes, waterfalls, and trees. The second entrance allows tourists to view the majesty of the parks at ground level.

Exciting Adventure

An electric boat takes you across the largest lake and to the higher points in the park. Visitors usually spend two to three hours exploring the winding paths! Waterfalls, small and large, crash into crystal clear water beneath your feet. Take the time to enjoy the many species of beautiful fish that dance in synchrony between the floating plants. Are you ready for an adventure? Explore the National Park on horseback, go kayaking, or traverse the cycling paths with friends!

Go Your Own Way

Depending on how much time you have, you can choose from several different pathways! If you only have an hour or two to spend at the park, consider taking the “Lower Lakes” path. This path is a great deal shorter than the other options, but it still offers visitors with a vivid tour of the Plitvice Lakes. If you have the entire day, choose the “Upper Lakes” path to see your fill of flora, fauna, waterfalls, and more!

A Few Helpful Tips

Before you explore Plitvice Lakes National Park, ensure that you’re prepared. Wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Carry a small pack and fill it with snacks, water, and a map of the park. Lastly, leave your swim trunks at home! The water may look cool and crisp, but the Croatia park systems have forbidden swimming to maintain the ecological balance of the lakes. If you prefer to avoid large crowds, consider exploring the National Park during the off-season (winter and early spring).
