See the Best of the Eternal City with the Roma Pass

See the Best of the Eternal City with the Roma Pass

Sites like the Colosseum and Forum are frequently packed with travelers in Rome.

With well over 2000 years of history to experience, Rome is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Europe. Sites like the Colosseum and Forum are frequently packed with travelers. And many of the most popular sites in Rome do charge entry fees, which can rack up during the course of your stay. Luckily, the city of Rome has a program dedicated to helping tourists save some money and even skip some of the long lines to get into the best sites – the Roma Pass! A complementary inclusion in all AESU Graduation tours of Rome, the Roma Pass is a must have when taking in the sights and sounds of the Eternal City.

Save Money on Entry Fees and Transportation

The Roma Pass is designed to help travelers get the most out of their trip and stretch their Euros. Once activated, you can use it for the next 72 hours to get free admission to two museums or monuments that participate in the program. For other museum/monument visits after this, as well as special exhibitions and events, you get a reduced entry fee. You also get unlimited rides on public transportation throughout the city, including metro, trams, buses, and suburban trains. While the Roma pass does not include tours of the Vatican, it offers great value for most of the rest of the sights to see in Rome.

Skip Long Lines

The last thing you want to do on a beautiful day in Rome is stand in line. Unfortunately, most of the best tourist attractions in Rome feature very long lines – over an hour long in some spots like the Colosseum. The Roma Pass alleviates this worry, granting you the ability to skip the line at the Colosseum and Castel Sant’Angelo. For many, this alone is worth the price of the pass! Don’t forget that you’ll still have to book a time at the Colosseum in advance to get in!

Tips for Use

To get the most out of your Roma Pass, be sure to activate it early in the morning on the first day that you want to use it. The pass will expire at 11:59 PM on the third day after activation, so you’ll get more time with it by activating in the morning. Ensure that you do your research to determine which sights you want to see where you will need to book a spot ahead of time, and don’t wait until the day of to do so. This will help you get a time that fits in with the rest of your tour plans! Finally, don’t try to rush through every single sight as quickly as possible. Rome, and its sights, are meant to be savored, so try to get the most out of the experience!
