Iceland is the perfect location for a seasoned traveler, a first-time traveler, or an adventurous family looking to road trip around the entire island.

Iceland is the perfect location for a seasoned traveler, a first-time traveler, or an adventurous family looking to road trip around the entire island. With stunning scenery, friendly locals, tons of adventures, and a great tourism scene, you should experience Iceland at least once in your life. We at AESU have our Iceland Airwaves trip, leaving on November 2nd, which will cover five days and three nights in Iceland. To learn more about this wonderful country and what our tour has to cover, read on!

Reykjavik: The Sights and Sounds

Our tour will take place in Reykjavik, which is the capital city of Iceland. While small in size, Reykjavik is packed with charm, spunk, and fun things for everyone to do. It is super walkable, safe, and full of Nordic charm. It is definitely one of the top cities to visit in Europe. Downtown Reykjavik is filled with non-stop music and performances hosted everywhere, from small record stores and art museums to trendy bars and stately churches. There is a nightlife scene, too, with large concert venues where you can hear just about everything from electronic music, indie, rock, hip hop, pop, funk, alternative and more. Reykjavik is also home to the Sun Voyager sculpture and the Icelandic Parliament House.

What Else to Do in Iceland

On our tour, we have a few different attractions you can check out. The waterfall Gullfoss is one of the most famous and impressive waterfalls in Europe, with thousands of tons of cold water thundering majestically into a deep canyon. The Geyser space has different hot springs and geysers, like the famous Strokkur. Pingvellir is the spot of the world’s oldest democratic parliament, which was founded back in 930, and a stunning canyon running through the park is the dividing line between two of the earth’s tectonic plates. You can take a plunge into a natural hot spring pool at the Secret Lagoon, surrounded by geothermal spots and a tiny Geyser that will erupt occasionally. The Blue Lagoon is a world-famous spa where you can relax in a natural source of water as well.
